Now, you may or may not know that, but up here in Canada a lot of people have extended health benefits through their employment that (almost) always cover massage. The amount varies between $300 and $500 a year (may be more, but I've never heard of plans with better coverage). Sometimes though this amount is shared between Massage/Chiro/Physio, but sometimes it's $500 (or whatever the allocation is) per year for each. These plans cover spouses too, so one can easily have $500 coverage from their plan plus another $500 from their spouse, totaling $1000 a year, which in Ottawa prices will buy them 11 30-minute massages. Not much, but it's free - yet most people don't use it.
So, what about where you live - is there such a thing as insurance covered massage therapy or all of your clients pay out of their pockets?
Thanks for sharing the info!
