Thanks for the information. I am wondering, since this is a home study, does it qualify as CEU's? It looks like it might according to website but I'm not sure. I found a heating pad today that is large enough I think. The high heat goes to about 140 degrees. The instructions in my kit said to heat them up to around 120. Is this accurate?

Yes, the home study does qualify for NCBTMB, AMTA, and FSMTA CE hours. However to qualify for NCBTMB you must meet with a proctor to test out on the technique.. This is NCBTMB requirments, not Barefoot Masters. For more informaiton you can contact Michelle Mace at www.my2feet.com

When I first started to introduce this to clients I waited until the cold, northern winter months. My clients loved the warmth, plus the ablilty I had to apply deep work. And I never "give away" any treatment time. What I offer to do is 10 minutes of Bamboossage at the beginning of the massage. If they want to do another type of modality after the 10 minutes, then I do. Once people feel the bamboo, they don't usually ask me to change the modality. And because I don't want to do massage with just my hands anymore, I don't treat this as a speciality modality, ie., I charge the same as all my other massages. Something to also think about is charging more for massages with just your hands to encourage people to try the things that are less strenuous on your body.

I have had this done many times and love the work, although it's all been table work. I actually teach this modality for Barefoot Masters, Inc. and we will be in Midway, UT teaching Bamboossage on August 6th. If you can't make the class there is also a home study available for both the table and chair massage. If you want the CE hours you have to meet with a proctor for an hour session. Those are NCBTMB's rules not Barefoot Masters. Contact Michelle at 239-352-8200 for more information.
