Rick Stein may be a great cook but his show was horribly researched and pronounced.. Calling all kinds of dishes slightly wrong names (somtum not somtam, etc etc).. The massaman curry that he kept calling mossaman, came up from muslim south and Malay indian influence not the west.

Also I guess everyone knows when the indians measure you up for a suit they nearly always farm that work out to the sweatshops run by Thais.

Many of the Patong Tailor shops bosses are Nepali, that and indian.. The annoying touts range from Benglai, Burmese, to the lower indian strata..

Used to be a real funny little Nepali fella down near sunset plaza who we got shitfaced a couple of times.. Him falling off his bike etc.

Dont tell me.. I need to have some suits run up when I return, looking at the detail on my old lagerfeld suits and know I wont get anything like that level of work on phuket. Even wondering if a trip to BKK is worth it.

well if you swear to them in any language they will 'respond' so thats not indicative - otherwise i'd have thought they were all cockney

Really bang means close to water.. bang sean.. etc..

Sai nam yen used to go down bangla just to the north of it.. So sai nam yen (cool water stream) ran next to bang la.. As well as being right next to the ocean..

I would say thats the guess..

The stream used to run next to the road from Sai Nam Yen school to Sai Nam Yen, past the hospital.
