I agree. The average girl is lazy as hell. She would't survive in a regular job.
But why would she? She can make 25K/mnth in p4p, maybe even add a nice sponsor, while in a regular job she can only make 10K.

And maybe she came to Patong when she was young and w/o proper job prospects, willing to work hard should she find a regulr job, she propably learned and adjusted fast.

This is so true, its funny how a lot of farang guys get on to an "ex"BG and think she will pull her weight in a real relationship(especially if she is a young looker, pinoys the same).
The "average middle class" non-bar girl works around 10hours a day-no paid OT- six days a week and apart from the numerous public holidays are luck if they get 2weeks annual leave, most are salary contracted paid monthly. 12000baht is the average monthly salary for HS educated people, uni-counts for alot and so do computer skills and english language- my lady's boss makes all the staff speak English whilst at work(up market hotel in phuket, thai owned) shes a managerial assistant(does most of the boss work really, except sign the checks and earns 25,000baht/month, I turned down a job for a building supervisor for 40,000/month and she couldn't believe how I was offer such good money, I said to her - that's not even one weeks pay for me in Australia and they want 6 days/week working 10hours....I laughed at it!!!!
A looker BG can earn double that, for the say 10 odd years she is considered "prime". There is no welfare or dole so unless your family is middle class or better having a break from work is really hard to do, this is probably why their is a larger perceneforum.xxxe of prostitutes(full sex) for Thailand then most western countries and is also why its cheaper there then most other places. Alcoholism is a real issue too, many support dud fathers that are drunks(average age of death for males is 55y.o).
Life is very tough for uneducated men also, it made me appreciate where I live more and my work situation to a greater extent.
Trade work standards are terrible in all the trades, the foreigner work visa policy is slowing the growth of their technology and skill level.

Thailand nice place for a month or so, but I couldn't live there full time working, unless I was computer programmer who seem to have a universal pay rate world wide. I said to my Lady I could live there 3months of the year- dec, jan, feb, while it is just as hot and muggy in Brisbane. After she saw Brisbane, she felt the same way, kerb n gutter, sewer, orderly traffic, people well dressed and no smell everywhere! But she was flabbergasted at the prices of things, which I explained is about double or thriple the thai rate, but the pays are still much higher all the same.

i have been very vocal to my wife that this is not acceptable to me in our relationship
i expect my wife to contribute to "our life" and not just save her money for her "thai life" because i provide a very good life style for us and it shouldn't just be one person if both are working
the last time she worked was just temporary so she basically assumed supporting her mom, and her spending money in Canada
but when she is here next, permanently, she is fully aware that part of her wages are to be saved and used for "our life" in Canada

You are assuming I am talking about Mrs C? She has her own mind I can assure you.
Anyway, why would she want to do that?
I already asked her what she would do if she earned a lifetime income in three years and she replied that she would simply keep earning. Understandable I think.
We also both understand that if you don't keep a lid on discretionary expenses they will always rise to meet your income.
As for the money she earns, its up to her what she does with it and if it ends up paying for a comfortable retirement for her mum and dad i have no objection.
After all, she is already looking after me very nicely thank you and I want for nothing in that department.

Talking about the income/expenses is the key.
Mrs C has her own bank account and I encourage her to meet expenses from it.
She took me out for my birthday and paid for the restaurant. Also pays things like busfares etc herself which builds a responsible attitude.
Like Ao, Nut assumes the parental support requirement when money is coming in for her. We do most things together socially and our joint goal is medium/long term savings. Like any couple we believe that the benefits of the medium to long term goal will be enjoyed together.

There is a constant supply of relatively high paid work in Phuket that cannot be filled.
BM OMG Miami has a thread needing g/hse staff. He is desperate.
The guesthouse on the corner of our Soi always has a sign out looking for staff.
There is always an ad for cleaners, 7k a month and the usual 10 hr day , 6 days a week.But to say that they actually WORK all day would be far from the truth. There can be litter/dog crap on the Soi near their stairs for days , she , in fact all the staff, wont see it or clean it up.
They also require another Night Receptionist at 9k. Most of the night in this job they sleep , all be it sitting upright. ( How do they do that?)
So there is CONTINUOS work here as opposed to seasonal harvesting labour in much of the North East.
So why dont they come? Tyranny of distance, fear of the unknown, far from the security blanket of friends and family, 'different food' , a perception all will be spent on just living.
Hell, I know bgs in Rawai that could earn way more, but wont come to evil Patong ( except to party at Hollywood occasionally)
I know a bg who cleared a hundred baht a day ( she said that was if she didnt each much) in a factory in the Issan, and was clearing around 40k a month in a Patong Bar 2 months after arriving, when I met her.
She'd much rather live on her farm in the Issan.
