Lot's of scary types, in Pattaya.

But for (mongering), I'd have to give the honor's to Patt's.

Some of the bars in Patts are open until 4am or so....but there is always a nightclub open.......after Marine1 closes around 2-3am.....depends on the cops....everyone piles out and goes to either Marine2 which is around the corner and empty until 3am or Insomnia....both go until daylight......

I would compare the nightclubs in Phuket pretty favourably to the mainstream Pataya ones.....Tapan + Tiger would be close to Marine1 and Lucifer....if it's gogos you are after Patts wins hands down....and for beer bars Phuket wins hands down......

If ya wanna strictly monger Patts wins.....if you want good company and friendships you can't beat our fellow BMs bars in Phuket....MTB, Helles Belles + Faulty Towers and Dingo's....

For beaches and daytime activities Phuket wins by a country mile......and Nicke + Pablo are spot on about the relative people each place attracts.....Patts is full of weirdos

My very first trip to Pattaya (about 2 yrs ago), I arrived at my hotel around 12:30AM.

Did a quick walk down to Walking Street (trying to catch a beer or two, before closing time).

Many of the "beer bars" were open until WAY after 2:00AM. It seemed like the Ago Go's were the only ones closing early.

Found a bar (and lady), and drank beer until 08:00AM...right on WS.

I try and be well off WS by 4 or 5am - total fruit wandering around at that time.

I tried Pattaya recently for 2 trips, wont return, number of reasons. 1) Daytime, as the beach is such a dump, you cant enjoy it during the day. 2) Some of the Farang Pattaya attracts, how they get on the plane and even make it to Thailand is beyond me. 3) The "holiday" feeling is lacking in Pattaya, it's like a fast food ***** take away. 4) Food - not a patch on Patong. 5) You cannot compare anything in Pattaya to something like Safari. Lucifer was my main hang out, Tony's is just a pain, but Lucifer gets too loud and attracts a lot of undesirables. Quite liked the Russian go go in Walking St though, that was interesting.
