Bawdy house charges in York region

City-TV reported that 2 "spas" were raided - one on rivermede, the other a "private residence" in Markham. 2 month investigation lead to the raids. Interestingly enough, the raids took palce a week ago but the york police press release was dated today.

COMMON BAWDY HOUSE CHARGES LAID AT VAUGHAN MASSAGE
PARLOUR AND MARKHAM RESIDENCE

The York Regional Police Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau has charged ten people after two separate investigations revealed a massage parlour in the City of Vaughan and a residence in the Town of Markham were operating as common bawdy houses. On Thursday, March 22, 2007, as part of the ongoing commitment to eliminate illegal body rub parlours in York Region, members of the York Regional Police Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau executed a search warrant at Russian Beauties, located at 176 Rivermede Road, in the City of Vaughan. As a result of the search, two women and one man were charged with common bawdy house offences.

On Friday March 23, 2007, a separate search warrant was executed at a private residence located at 5 St. Moritz Way, in the Town of Markham.
Between January and March, 2007, York Regional Police Drugs and Vice Enforcement Bureau officers conducted investigations into the activities occurring at these two premises. The investigation revealed that sexual acts were being performed in exchange for money inside the two premises on a continuous basis. The ten accused have been charged with bawdy house offences including Found in a Common Bawdy House, Inmate of a Common Bawdy House, Keeping a Common Bawdy House and Possession of a Controlled Substance after one of the women charged with being an inmate was found in possession of a controlled drug. York Regional Police will continue to vigorously investigate complaints of sexual services or prostitution being provided or taking place in both commercial and residential locations. This type of illegal activity will not be tolerated. Wow another bust! I visted a spa on Rivermede but was never offered or partaked in any "extra services". I am not sure if they had a body rub licence. As a result I have become more weary of visiting some of these smaller spas.

BB - you were right - HFH located in the 'bridge - part of Vaughan which is part of York Region. SRM located in Brampton which is part of Peel Region.

Hope HFH is safe from such things!
Its high time they should consider moving out of that location, for the safety of their associates, as well as their regular loyal clients.
Because the region has become very conservative, & i think more churches should be opened in that city for spiritual guidance of its inhabitants, LE's can also attend some masses.

I went to HFH once, and would love to go back The treatment was awesome.. BUT, as long as it is in York Region, I will not go back. It is not worth having my name printed in the paper, and possibly loosing my job over it.

Kayla, You ever consider oving HFH? May be a thought.

I have been going to HFH for years never had a problem. I think its one of a very few licenesed places in Vaughn. Afer reading what was printed in the newspaper, the police was targeting ILLEGAL bodyrubs, not licensed establishements.

Yeah, I went to the Rivermede place often a while back. It's never been a place to get extras. EVER. Not even a BS 99% of the time.
