Re: Baya Beach. I liked it loads better when it was a funky Thai restaurant there with plastic chairs, worn formica tables, and very good food for 30 Baht for a big plate of most any Thai dish you wanted. Served water from plastic pitchers into tin cups full of ice, for free, of course.
When they gave you your check bin, you went to the table at the back of the room, where a fat lady who never smiled, sat there with a big cash box, took your money and gave you your change! Lovely! 555..
And the best place in the world to sit and order two entrees, and maybe a Pepsi to wake you up at half past noon, as you lazily dined, watched the world go by on Bangla/Rat-U-Thit , and perhaps chit-chatted with the smiling BG from the night before sat next to you!
