Better Business Bureau
Short note of interest:
A client of mine (Veterinarian Emergency Medicine) informed me that when their office joined the BBB, they had a rise in people who would submit complaints (especially unfounded ones - people just looking for a place to gritch and moan to - and generally those folks who have nothing better to do in conjunction with a bad attitude) with the BBB. Now, I am not saying that all complaints are unfounded, but she definitely saw a huge rise in those types of complaints.
The painful thing about this, is that once the complaint is submitted, she has to write a letter detailing the event to the BBB, along with steps taken to provide recourse to the client. On occasion the need of a mediator occurred.
She stated that in her opinion, being part of the BBB brings out the worst in patrons who normally would have just talked to a staff member about something that was bothersome to them --- and that it only serves to bring on extra work for the owners of the business.
