Well, it has been an exciting few months!
After a many months of planning, several dozen meetings, interviews, and negotiations...we finally started moving into our new space today!
We created a 19 x 23 classroom for yoga, workshops, seminars, etc. I have contracted with a well known yoga studio to use our space as a satelite location. We will be landscaping the back yard (rare to find in a commercial setting) to create a private outdoor yoga space. This space will also be used for outdoor massage and maybe even pedicures!
I have secured a fabulous keynote speaker for monthly inspirational workshops, and I have had many inquiries from other educators looking for a place to hold workshops.
Each therapist was responsible for decorating their own room. They had such fun getting it all together and picking out the paint colors, and it was both stressful and bonding at the same time.
We decided to have a grand re-opening on November 11th. We intended to have the usual free chair massage, brow waxes, door prizes, etc. One of my clients is awesome at event planning, so I turned it over to her. This "Open House" has turned into a Fair of sorts now! We have 10 vendors for outside, a bounce house for the kids, a fire engine and Officer McGruff and fingerprinting for the kids, 2 guest speakers...1 on how to bring the magic back to the holidays, and the other is the owner of the yoga studio to do a question and answer session.
We have been lucky enough to get donations for 100 goody bags...including a local Applebees gave us 100 free appitizer cards! My client is totally making this awesome! She has sent out over 70 press releases so far and we have sent out 1000 newlsetters. (To our client base). I can not wait to see how this turns out!
I have been stressed, but now the adrenaline and excitement is really kicking in! Our clients are so excited! The only true glitch we are coming up with is a reliable nail tech...good heavens they are driving me crazy! (Not showing up for interviews, not coming in, blah, blah, blah)
I will try to keep you posted, for those of you interested.
