You've probably seen them for sale in gift shops, etc, but I got my first two from Jon O in Canada. They are organic (clean) wheat berries or wheat groats sewn into a cotton casing & covered with a washable slip cover. I sew my own now, and scent the wheat berries with lavender EO. (cover in an airtight container for a couple of hours with a few drops of oil of your choice) They are microwaved & then applied to the back (or wherever) during your protocol. I work the back, apply either biofreeze or sombra & then use the wheat sack while I work the hammie, legs, feet. They are a very nice 'added touch'. I sell them with a matching eye pillow (filled with flax seed). I have sold every single set I have made so far... I love them.Jill/Sagetherapist

 Jill...I am interested in this as well.  I have thought of sewing my own heating bags and making eye pillows with flax seed and dried lavender.....I am in Canada...where is this Jon O?  That is a great idea about making them a package, never thought of that.  You are full of great ideas  What types of material do u use for the heating bags.  I saw this neat idea in a mag.  where you put dried lavender scantly in between two pieces of fleece(measured the size of a throw) and sew together and it could be warmed in microwave...mmmmm.    Thanks...Jillian

$12 for the back wheating sack, $7 for the eye pillow, or $15 for the set. Just use cotton... your choice of prints or flanels, etc. jon is a fellow MT in Manitoba who posts on massageresource.com (and I thoiught here too, but maybe I'm running it together). I felt like purchasing them first (using them at home on myself, etc), and then tweaking the idea however I felt best fit my uses at work. I really can't believe that there's anywhere that doesn't have these for sale at whole foods stores, etc. They might be filled with buckwheat or rice or beans, but it all does the same. Just be really careful not to overheat the sacks... they stink if you scorch the wheat (rice, corn, etc). Better to heat them for a short while, turn them over & heat again. I accidentally burned (scorched) the first back sack that I bought from Jon & his wife's gift center. They can be used cold too. The eye pillows actually should not be heated... the eye area is too sensitive for deep heat.Jill/Sagetherapist

Thanks Jill....yes I learned my lesson with heating bags(mine were filled with some kind of oats)one day, I burnt one and what a smell!!  It lasted for days and I had to throw the bag out  Had had them for quite a while, probably needed to go anyway.  I was told to put them in the microwave after so many uses with a cup of water to add moisture, this was supposed to help them from smelling and decrease chances of burning?  I need to make some...alot of my clients liked me using them in my treatments.  Jillian, RMTCanada
