I can't believe the horseshit I'm reading here.

For the record: I have offered to prepay sessions with Jodi and she flatly but graciously refused. My intent - which I made clear - was not to give a gift or make a loan but just to pay in advance for sessions I intended to have; she still refused.

This is a very unique thread in that it may well be the longest "review" thread in massageplanet history. There are a number of reviews, but like this Board itself, the reviews actually comprise a minority of the posts, and the subject matter is all over the place. The one constant is that in many ways it is Jodi's interactive blog in which we participate.

So if she tells us about her crappy day or a good thing that happened or how much vet bills suck, so be it. If you don't like it, change the channel. Read something else,

It is not a secret that all providers are looking for more business. Isn't that the reason why they became members of massageplanet in the first place? What Jodi wrote in her posts is no different than those Providers Ad that take up half the page on your screen. Yes, she is trying to grab your attention BUT IN NO SHAPE OR FORM IS SHE ASKING FOR A HANDOUT. You are conditioned to see certain things which are understandable but unfortunately, they are not true. Would you feel better if Jodi put what she wrote in the Providers Ad section?

Also, let me add that if Jodi really want people to send her money for no reason by writing what she wrote, do you think it is an effective way to do that? First, the people who read it and want to send her money would have to know her well and also where she lives. How many people do you think falls into this category? Less than a handful? So Jodi wrote what she wrote so that 5 people can send her money?

#1 I was never mean to you when you messaged me back channel. I did tell you I go to a massage place (LEGIT) around where I live and its $8 for 30 mins and I enjoy their massage. It has nothing to do with your service. I thought I was trying to be nice and say no thanks. I wasnt trying to imply I get a R&T for $10.

And I do find your comment on my "crew of asians" offensive. Race has nothing to do with this, but you obviously have some sort of bias towards us. #2 I have no issues with your service from what I read from this thread. In my last review I even mentioned that you seem to have a good following and most leave excellent reviews.

#3 You just cant accept the fact that you are very contradictory in some of your post. What did you think people were going to do when you complain about being short on cash all the time(blank check). Youre the only person on this board that I can remember reading, that feels the need to tell people about some of your problems and then follow it up by saying: please come see me for a massage.

You cant have it both ways and complain to people that you need cash, then when people send you cash, complain about that also. I admit I have no clue what these people expected from you for the donations. The reason why I even felt the need to comment this time after not saying a peep on your thread for more then a year is because you felt the need to "address an issue" If you dont want people to talk behind your back, whether it be true or not, then maybe you shouldnt share certain things on a board where complete strangers read your comments and form their own opinion of you. I was assuming that the people we are talking about are her more trusted and consistent clients. People who know Jodi, are happy to pay her price for her services, and expect to continue to be future clients - similar to the Starbucks card reference. I wholeheartedly concur that loan sharks or anyone of their ilk should be avoided and the amount of any advance payment should be limited to at most 5 or 10 sessions to be utilized per normal scheduling over the next 6-12 months. But if there is any inkling that someone thinks advancing a relatively small amount of money entitles them to some sort of special treatment, they should be disabused of the notion upfront.

Assuming what you said is true (which is not), how does loaning her money and then later demanding an arm and a leg from her helps her situation? Sending her money secretly without showing up for massages reeks of high-end loan sharking, or worse money laundering.

And mopiko, sometimes women just want to vent, and not necessarily looking for that knight in shiny armor to come rescue them. Just because your reaction is that Jodi is looking for sympathy does NOT mean that that is the reaction Jodi was shooting for. You are overthinking what you read from her.

Sharing how she feels with a community that is aware of her business does not mean she is eliciting charity. Sometimes you just have to vent to people who might understand. Her prior behavior doesn't indicate that she is the type to beg.

Jodi is a low volume independent provider in NYC with an established presence on this board. I wouldn't expect the same behavior from her as I would get from someone in AC or Vegas.

Nothing's wrong with your idea if the people that send Jodi money are rational, sane people. More than likely, these people are not; under the guise of kindness, these people will demand more than what was owed to them. Think of them as loan sharks -- they will lent you anything as long you can afford to pay up when they come to collect.

Jodi is trying to run a business. She is not looking to be anyone's secret mistress. If you have money laying around, go see her and get a massage and pay her accordingly.

Hey Jodi,

There is a lot of self interest here in making sure you don't lose your ability to provide services. If it helps you out in the short term and you can keep your place, maybe you should consider allowing a prepayment plan for those that want to help out. Not much different from a Starbucks card or a Massage Envy plan, allow a prepayment against future services.

This isn't something just anybody can do, but I am sure there are plenty here who trust you and it is certainly a rational business strategy.

Having had words with a member on this site who I wont mention because I do respect him and we are working it out... I have to address something.
I know you guys talk alot back channel and even get together in the real world.
Whatever is being said about me behind the scenes, I would rather NOT know. Some very hurtful things have been brought in between this gentlemen and I and a couple times this person has said to me, "Well so and so said this so it MUST be true and this guy said that about you so I KNOW Im right and blah blah blah.
I do not want to hear from ANY of you on this board what other members are saying about me privately.
I would like to clear ONE thing up though. Several people have offered me money, as a gift to help me not lose my massage studio. I have turned every single one of them down. I do NOT TAKE MONEY I DO NOT earn.
I sent back a money order, tore one check up (yes I was trusted enough to be sent a blank check) and another person slipped money under my door , thus the current situation with him.
If I complain and whine and cry about my financial situation, its not me asking for charity, Im just saying, hey lets step up my service so I can get out of the hole Im in! Everyone has problems...if I vent on here because frankly, you guys are my only life apart from the gym, then let me vent its not hurting anyone!
I work HARD and if you think Im fat, not as attractive as you thought, massage wasnt spectacular, Im a con trying to get sympathy or that Im working with LE, please keep it to yourself, dont run to tell me everything people say about me because it HURTS MY FEELINGS.
