Hi Jim,
Just to let you know its very common for people with disc or facet problems to stand 'wonky'. Its caused by you stopping yourself from pinching swollen inflammed tissue. This is why it hurts more if you try to force yourself up straight you squash the inflammation and make it worse. In clinic I treat many many people every year with symptoms that sound like yours and many avoid surgery. Often the way to help is not by lots of treatment but through lots of education and the person making changes to help themself to help their body tissue get better and the inflammation to settle
We can all accomodate a degree of disc trouble or degeneration in joints without needing to have everything aligned perfectly.
Indeed many many people have one leg longer than the other, scoliosis, bulging discs and wear and tear without any restriction of movement or symptoms.
