Broader Drop Off

That's a good idea, where do you have the Taxi park while you wait? I may try that the next time I am in that situation.

The safest place is where the cops and muggers aren't. That changes from time to time. Like Sampson, I normally perfer using the SENTRI drop off point.

Once in a while I get "bad vives" at a drop off point. (Usually it's very late at night when nobody is around excpet a cop or some else who looks "fishy" to me.) In this situation I pay the taxi waiting time and don't get out of the cab until another group arrives. Then I blend into the group. I only rarely need to do that, but I believe in being safe, not sorry.

I always would get dropped off at the linea sentri, which is at the bottom of the bridge you are talking about(on the side of the street where you cross the border). There is police protection there almost always. Some people don't like it because they are scared of being shook down, but there is nothing to fear if you don't have drugs or something illegal on you. If they want to search you, just put your money in one hand and let them do it. Refuse to pay for anything that they try to say is illegal unless it is illegal.

I have been visiting TJ Zone for few times in the last couple of months. Most of the time returning back to US were no latter than 9pm; I took a cab from AB.


My understanding is that there are two drop off locations:

The first drop off location is around McDonald, Taxi station, and Taco: this location would take me about 2 to 3 minutes in crossing the bridge. Everything is possible to be happened during these minutes: being robbed or searched by the cops especially "AFTER DARK"

The second drop off is about 50 yards right before the end of the other side of the bridge. The cap drivers have suggested that location. I declined 'cuase I never tried this new location and I had no idea how safe of this location and surrounding.

My question is that has anyone here in this forum being robbed after dard in crossing the bridge, that is - using the first drop off? What is your favorite drop off locations?
