Now back to the post, in many ways I'm writing about it in hopes of educating guys like Burt who tend to believe anything guys write online, especially if it's negative and about a provider, and then are quick to go on a 'witch hunt' after her, trying to post pictures, reports of HIV/STDs all in the so-called attempt to warn the mongers, because they like to say, better safe then sorry, "bros before hoes' never mind they are tying to destroy a girls livelihood with dubious reporting. ( maybe one day I'll tell you guys how Burt helped destroy an escort's career with smear tactics)

Lets at least question and look closely at the thief report since the guy is willing to post the name of Linda, and where she works in hopes that we avoid her, not fuck her, and she goes broke because of his efforts.

I wrote about this before what I look for in reports to check for accuracy for me. I'm sure everyone has their own methods of checking for accuracy of reports, even if it's largely unconscious and you don't think about it?

First I want to see how long the person has been a member to get a clue about him. In this case, the guy is a newbie. Nothing wrong with being a newbie, but since no track record I have to question it a little bit more.

Yes, if this guy said he was a navy seal I would automatically throw it in my bullshit trash can. There is a website devoted to exposing navy seals because the bullshit problem is so bad. They say 95% of the time when someone says they are a navy seal it's bullshit. I always keep a close watch on guys that say they are ex army rangers, delta force, FBI, CIA, and just a regular street cop, just because so many guys like to just say they are a cop,and it turns out to be bullshit.( now I don't throw things in my bullshit bin for just saying you are a cop, but I watch what else they say)

I also look at timing, and emotion. This report had good timing and emotion. He reported right after it occured, and you could feel the emotion of the report, you just know something happened, but what?

Does the report ask you to suspend normal beliefs? Is the story over the top, meaning could this have happened to only someone like Superman, where the guy takes on three people and kicks their ass?..In this case the report wasn't over the top, but for me in many places it asked me to 'suspend normal beliefs, in effect it was defying gravity, as something just didn't make sense, and seemed impossible. And the report had peripheral issues that stood out.

The first thing I notice about the report is the peripheral issue, the guy talks about seeing this chica with another guy and kissing him! Well what did this guy do stand around waiting his turn? Stuff like this makes me believe many the guy is jealous in some way.

The 2nd thing is the guy asked you to suspend normal beliefs: He say they were taking a shower and she got out 45 seconds before him with him following. In that short 45 seconds, she got dressed and took the cell phone and them ran downstairs. The time frame is just impossible, nobody is that fast. We gave the guy a chance to correct the story, but he stands by it.

the whole story just sounds weird, she didn't take any money just a cell phone. What good is a cell phone? Years before, cell phones were great for stealing to make free long distance calls, but now calls are cheap. It just doesn't make sense to steal the cell phone, and then leave your purse in the room. To me it just sounds like he is trying to make her look bad, telling us she had a crack pipe in her purse, meaning she is into drugs. Then something else didn't make sense. The guys claims only his cell phone was stolen, but he writes when he found the purse he was hoping to get the money back that he lost. But the guy already said he didn't lose any money.....so again it doesn't make sense, because he didn't lose any money.

I at first when I read the story believed the guy was just a careless writer and was just off on his timing and got his writing messed up. But not now, he was given a chance to correct some information he gave, but basically stood by his story calling Linda a thief.

Sorry, this story goes in my bullshit trash can, because basically too many things in the story didn't make sense, and the guy is a newbie with no track record. But everyone is free to believe what they want.

I wrote in the past the danger of walking on Articulo 123 wasn't a big deal and that I didn't think too many mongers who mugged over the recent years.(2000 to 2008)

Years ago this part of town use to be very dangerous, and what happens if a certain street gets a reputation that reputation lasts for years.

But recently a few reports of muggings have been coming in. They still aren't necessarily on Articulo 123, but around the outskirts of the zona, like Coahuila St the same street where Adelitas is but a few blocks away. There was a newspaper article that even showed a mugging again on Coahuila street but way west where there isn't any sex workers at all. They attacked this 50 years old gringo monger, but they rateros were caught, and a picture of them made the newspaper. There were three, two guys, one bigger guy, one thin guy, and a very small thin Mexican girl. ( personally I laughed how small these rateros were, but then we have lot of old thin mongers on this site too, so they are a danger to at least some mongers.)

There was another recent report coming in from another site about a mugging attempt in the day time. I believe the guy, and don't think he was drunk or looked lost like so many mongers. I'm also thinking it was an attempt mugging by wannabe rateros, probably just kids who didn't know what they were doing. But it could have been serious if the attempt was made by experienced rateros working in teams.

So here is my take on the subject. I wouldn't worry about the swine flu at all. I also wouldn't worry about being kidnapped or cartel violence too much, because the violence always seems to be away from the zona.

The TJ cops use to be a big concern, but the last year with all the cartel violence and house cleaning.....I had no concern about TJ cops at all. And the last few months I rarely seen TJ cops, and that might have been the reason why we are hearing about more chokeholds. It also doesn't help that we have a recession in both the US and Mexico.

I think the TJ cops you might have to worry about a little more but nothing like you use to have to worry about them.

I think you should be aware that muggings might be taking place on the outskirts of the zona, as we know the zona, a couple of blocks in each direction.

The good news is the bars in the zona are safe, and really there is no reason to go anyplace else, because Revolution is dead, so there is no reason to walk there.

Now personally I'm not scare, and will continue to walk around the zona because I fit in very well withe the local population and look poor. My daughter tells me when I don't smile I have a very mean face, and sadly I'm over 200 pounds and don't have a neck!( just kidding but I don't have a long neck) But if they try to get me, it's going to take at least two or three of those guys, and if they weight 125 pounds they are going to go flying.

Fireballs always finds a way to deny/downgrade crime in Mexico. (The report is too old, it lacks emotion, the guy used to be in an elite military unit/cop, etc. etc. etc.) Some day perhaps I'll post my theory about why.
