On Thursday, April 21, 2011, police arrested a Municipal Standards Officer with the City of Toronto in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Monday, March 28, 2011, at 1 p.m., the accused, in uniform and on duty, attended a massage parlour in the Guildwood area,

- while the accused was receiving a massage, he produced a document the victim believed was his employee identification,

- the accused then sexually assaulted the victim.

Edward Hayes, 48, of Ajax, has been charged with:

1) two counts of Sexual Assault,
2) two counts of Breach of trust by public officer,
3) Municipal Corruption.

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, on Friday, May 13, 2011, room 407, at 10 a.m.

Police believe there may be more victims.

that's sketchy ~ the bylaw officers I dealt with when I worked in spas were always professional. Using their position to an advantage like that is just plain reprehensible....

It was taken DIRECTLY off the Toronto Police Website (check under news releases) - the charges are a matter of public record, so the name isn't an issue - they even have his picture there.

if i was 5-O, the last thing i'd wear going to an MP is wear the uniform. guaranteed zero mileage. probably the reason for sex assault if it really happened.

I know and I did check the original PR (because I can't believe this guy was that stupid). But we've always respected privacy on massageplanet.net.



That's what doesn't make sense. Why would he go in uniform if he was getting a massage? Why would he flash his ID (with name???) if he was in uniform?

The alarm bells should have been going off all over the place. This guy must prey on the ill-informed and meek. Any reasonably trained girl would have told him to f-off.

Maybe he was successful in the past, but this girl said no.

If he was on duty, he's even more stupid.

These abuse of power situations are the worst. It taints a whole group of people who are just trying to earn a living while protecting the common good. Remember these men and women (although an inconvenience to hobbyists) are helping to prevent some really nasty things.

IE) underage unlicensed girls

Just imagine the media shitstorm if underage girls were found in an LE blitz across the
city.

Anyway if this guy is guilty I hope justice is served.

The information was taken from the police website. Each and any story in the newspaper featuring a simple charge almost always mentions the name of the person charged as well. Only minors under 18 have their identity protected.

All very true, but you guys forget that standard massageplanet.net practice is to redact names in press releases regarding busts, etc. It's not a legal issue, just a courtesy.

I was in the waiting room. Bylaw came in and spoke to the manager briefly. Then he checked the girls licenses and ID's. Everything was done in 10 minutes and he didn't say a word to me.

I think the officer was more interested in chatting with the manager VY. Anybody who's seen Vy knows she's very pretty, easily on par with the infamous Cat
