Can you course/bar fine a golf caddie?

HELLO, will be in Patong with a few buddies on jan-3rd till 10th. Will be getting in a few rounds of golf in the daytime. I have heard that you can select your caddie when you arrive. Have also heard that cleaning your clubs and balls after a round has a whole new meaning in Thailand!!! Is this valid? I checked the search function, coudnt find answer. Thanks in advance....

well I wouldn't say it's normal practice....nor would I suggest propositioning one.....and besides that amny are olkder married ladies

As Nelce said many you would not perhaps choose to as they are older, married or not neccessarily stunners. But if you get a good looking girl and hit it off during your round then she may be interested in meeting again or after the round.

Get her name and number and ask for her each time you go to the course and just like any other girl in the world if she likes you, of course she will accept to go out with you.

As for extras as a norm when playing, no it is not the norm and if you were too direct would offend.

Hi Slampay, Recently played golf on most of the courses in Phuket. No, you do not get to select a caddie. They are provided for you. Like the above say, most are older ladies and mostli IMHO not overly attractive. In one case ( Mission Hills) we even got guys caddying for us. Not good either. We found a lot of their english wasn't great, except for "dog leg left" etc. On our last night we asked our caddies out to dinner. I'd say that they had been asked before and were very happy to accept. Enjoy your golf. The courses are great. Don't forget to buy the caddies drinks at every 3rd hole.

Le pew, you CAN select your caddies and if you get a particularly good one, take her number and then ring her before you go and she will caddy for you again.

Again this will also stop you getting the new girls or the ones with poor english (usually one and the same)

And LOOP, I kept hearing yours saying 'Yea Mak Mak', no idea of course what it meant!!!55555555!!

Yes you can pick the caddie.

If you are golfing Phuket Country Club 18 holes go down under the clubhouse where they are and walk around if you see a "looker" choose her. The caddie manager will not be happy but who cares.

The caddies at PCC are the best looking on the island.

Laguna caddies forget it, there are only three good looking ones and they will not go with you.

Blue Canyon has great caddies but I didn't see any "lookers"

Just like to point out a few rules for mongering golfers :-


6-4. Caddie
The player may be assisted by a caddie, but he is limited to only one caddie at any one time.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE 6-4:
Match play — At the conclusion of the hole at which the breach is discovered, the state of the match is adjusted by deducting one hole for each hole at which a breach occurred; maximum deduction per round—Two holes.
Stroke play — Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round—Four strokes.
Match or stroke play — In the event of a breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole.
A player having more than one caddie in breach of this Rule must immediately upon the discovery that a breach has occurred ensure that he has no more than one caddie at any one time during the remainder of the stipulated round. Otherwise, the player is disqualified.

6-7. Undue Delay; Slow Play
The player must play without undue delay and in accordance with any pace of play guidelines that the Committee may establish. Between completion of a hole and playing from the next teeing ground, the player must not unduly delay play. PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE 6-7:
Match play — Loss of hole; Stroke play — Two strokes.


So, whilst on the course :- no threesomes taking 1hour :rules:

Some dude in HH claimed to of been tipping the caddie chicks 200 baht, knock his ball into the trees and she'd give him a BJ. He's a pathological liar though so a lot of this whole 'scene' is a exaggeration.

Should you get the opportunity to play the 19th hole with your caddy, don't forget local rules apply :erf:


Each player shall furnish his own equipment for play, normally one club and two balls.

Play on course must be approved by the owner of the hole.

Unlike outdoor golf, the object is to get the club in the hole and keep the balls out.

For most effective play, the club should have a firm shaft. Course owners are permitted to check shaft stiffness before play begins.

Course owners reserve the right to restrict club length to avoid damage to the hole.

Object of the game is to take as many strokes as necessary until the owner is satisfied play is complete. Failure to do so may result in being denied permission to play again.

It is considered bad form to begin playing the hole immediately upon arrival. Experienced players will normally take time to admire the entire course, paying special attention to well formed mounds and bunkers.

Players are cautioned not to mention other courses they have played or are currently playing to the owner of the course being played. Upset owners have been known to damage a players equipment for this reason.

Players are encouraged to have proper rain gear, just in case.

Players should not assume that the course is in shape to play at all times. Players may be embarrassed if they find the course temporarily under repair. Players are advised to be extremely tactful in this situation. More advanced players will find alternate means of play when this is the case.

Players should assume their match has been properly scheduled particularly when playing a new course for the 1st time. Previous players have been known to become irate if they discover someone else is playing what they considered a private course.

The owner of the course is responsible for the pruning of any bushes, which may reduce the visibility of the hole.

Players are strongly advised to get the owners permission before attempting to play the backside.

Slow play is encouraged, however, players should be prepared to proceed at a quicker pace at the owners request.

It is considered an outstanding performance, time permitting, to play the same hole several times in one match.
