Thanks for the info. Most helpful for my next trip (March) which will be on my own. Is it easy to get on the courses as a single or do they prefer more than one player? I see there are rates for one player on internet booking sites.

If you are there on a Thursday the MTB boys have a regular 9 holes at the Phuket CC.....drop in beforehand and I'ms ure you'kll be welcomed along LP

Yes, you can play on your own, they usually offer to put you with another player or group. If you do not like that, no probs.

As Nelce said, we play every thursday afternoon, call into Mai Thai Bar and speak to Nicke, everyone is always welcome to join us.

Green fee is 1140 baht including caddy, and 800 (steel) or 1000 (graphite) baht if you need to rent clubs.

If you need a caddie to be impressed and fall into bed with you just do what I do and buy a bottle of tippex. Stencil any famous name on your golf bag. Not Woods, I tried that and it didn't work. I normally use the name Ballesteros and get the other players to call me Seve on the way round. I throw in the odd "Hola" and "Doth cuerveza Por va vor" and I soon have the caddies in a huddle and wondering if I am actually 'Him!'

It nearly worked until I only gave her 200 baht as a tip for the round, then she blew me out.

Make sure you take plenty of balls,there is nearly as much water as grass on the course we play. Think "my mate" has the record for lost balls,7 in 9 holes.

Lew might be your record but way off what we have witnessed, quite a few guys in double figures for lost balls but the real record goes to a fairly well known BM, 8 on the first hole!!!!

if there is a bar on the golfcourse u propably can barfine them usualy there is only grass , sand and water on a golfcourse , than u cannot, u can gras,water and sand fine them but that is normaly called tip. u can also go to bangla and ask the girls there to carry your golfbag all night. their club and ball handling is very good i hear.
