Something very appealing about that wait as a pint settles before the first sip..

All this Guinness talk making me thirsty, going off to the pub after work for some pints.

Hopefully i get a pint from a new barrel.

Cant keep the barrel for more than a couple of days, else it will taste weird.

The old Beer Lao Dark...now THAT is a damn fine drink. And usually by-passed by all the "beer drinking" lads? Perhaps just because they do not know it is there?

Believe me, the 6.5 sneaks up an gives you a right smack in the head if you are not careful...

It is my normal everyday drink in Lao (and of course the old G&T but that is just for the purpose of "anti malaria")

Only one problem for me...It has to be COLD...damn cold.

And this habit/practice of putting F'N ICE in a man's beer? It is just not right...even though it happens so quick now I have just about given up trying to stop them.

i've got a girls tolerance to the taste of beer so i'm stuck with spirits, breezers and shots. So anything under 110 baht per is a result for me, count yourself lucky. Nothing more shamefull than seeing a 6ft big lad with a breezer in hand.

Its called Phuket Lager, it is okayish not as good in my opinion as the more popular beers, Chang, Singha or Tiger. Chang is very cheap, 415bht for case of 24 in the supermarket, 50/60 baht in the bars for a bottle.

Just a simple question, How do you have an opinion on a beer you do not know the name of or have ever tried???

There are no bad beers anymore. Was in Africa in (late) sixties and seventies and there you got bad beer. Now this days you have reasonable beers everywhere. All breweries use European (mostly German) technology and engineers from European universities. Look for example at Beer Lao. You think a good beer like that could be brewed in that place 30 years ago?

Had a couple of afternoon 50 Baht Bottle Happy Hour San Mig Light sessions in Kamalalala recently. Happy hours usually lasting about eight hours, so at 50 Baht a bottle my Mum says I can stay out longer and my spence goes further! Happy Days!
