I have to agree with gnclivewell. I ended up at 98 Mott 6th Floor a couple of weeks later and had very similar thoughts to yours in my head. I've been reading this thread with some interest and read through almost the entire extensive Chinatown thread on Utopia. Thanks for the update mrhaze. My last visit was about a month before they closed. I was always a walk-in customer so Helen doesn't have my phone # and their old number no longer accepts calls. Stopped by the place reviewed by the thread starter a while back. As another review stated, the place isn't called Chinatown Grand. It's Asia Spa or something equally generic. I had Linda. There was another girl there but I didn't get her name. I think she goes by both Amy and Lili, depending on the lunar month.

The facilities weren't the best, but they were good enough. The towel on the table looked as clean as those in any other Chinatown joint. She covered it with the standard sheet of tissue paper. I've been to cleaner AMPs, but I've seen others in the neighborhood that are no better than this one.
