Cockroaches at Golden 101/BMR’s attitude

In some countries, the cockroaches have evolved to fly - they’re huge & aggressive! They’re not very common in Canada (at least not that I have heard of), but I have heard horror stories where someone sitting in a restaurant somewhere in Singapore saw a hairy roach flying with its flappy wings sail right into his food - and he decided never to go to a restaurant for the rest of his trip!

There’s an excellent chance that some of the new-to-Canada masseuses and attendants are bringing the roaches with them. The managers at BMR (who also exchange with Golden 101) are clearly not screening these attendants for hygiene (or overall attitude). This is leading to terrible first impressions. These girls don’t know the first thing about hospitality. And yet, somehow they get hired to charge $160+/hour just because they want quick cash for 5 minutes. It’s a deliberate insult to customers. So, it helps to spread the word on online forums like this so that our bros can make informed decisions.

Honestly Joe, this is such bullshit. I have been to G101 maybe 15 times in the past year. It is true, I saw a cockroach twice. But the spa is owning the problem and taking action. As to my experience there, I have always received excellent service and I was never shorted on time.

In real life, all businesses have issues from time to time. It is how they respond to those issues that sets them apart. G101 has earned my business and my loyalty by the service that they provide and their caring attitude to their customers.

I can't speak to your motives for your obvious disdsdain for this spa, and anything that they say. Seems to me that you are just looking to make a name for yourself on MP. So far, you are succeeding, but it is not the type of name that I would want for myself.

By the time you notice you have cockroaches it’s too late. Extreme action needs to be taken asap. This type of business usually doesn’t have reason to be concerned. Of the restaurants were responsible to take proper precautions, the spa wouldn’t get any of their spillover. Health department should enforce the food service establishments as they pose a health concern for their customers.
I see the spa as an innocent victim here.

I have never seen a cockroach at either G101 or BMR. Now, it’s been a couple of months since I’ve been to either (I saw Angela @ Lavender after her return from vacation). But, if the spa said “they heard us and are taking action” then we should believe them.

Cockroaches are attracted to food, moisture and shelter and like dark places. G101 is surrounded by restaurants so there is the food source. These little tanks move around though. So, irrespective of their source, if there are cockroaches in G101 it is most likely there are cockroaches in one or more of the restaurants. So, I would suggest G101 quietly inform all the other tenants (restaurants) so the restaurants can do their own inspection and extermination on the down low. Because, if there are cockroaches and health department does an inspection, and they should do one, then a restaurant might get hit with a yellow card, or worse, the dreaded red card.

You can go here and look up inspection reports. Just type in 3621 Highway 7 in the address line. Most are very clean saying the handwashing stations might need more supplies. One restaurant was cited back in February for not keeping things clean. February was it’s last report.

I agree entirely with Mungu. The spa has acknowledged its problems and has humbly expressed regrets, committing to take corrective action. If we were to warn our friends about the poor services and the presence of cockroaches in these two spas, everyone here already knows about them. Therefore, let’s give the staff and owners, who are working hard to earn a living, a fair chance. We need to move forward. Those who do not wish to visit these spas are free to choose otherwise, and those who appreciate their experience can do so without hindrances.

They’re both owned by the same people - and they move the girls around. And unsurprisingly, I was banned from both threads - at the same time. The criticism was directed at the ownership - and was well overdue.

I agree with this 100%! But I don’t understand why on earth we’re shifting the blame on the restaurants when the cockroaches were found at the spa? And that’s deemed to be a fair approach somehow? That’s just based on an assumption.

If you personally didn’t see a cockroach “at” the restaurant, please do not allude to them (in some warped defense of Golden 101 & its owners). People get offended by my comments, but the hypocrisy is just laughable.

I am not a scientist, and I come here not as a Judge; I come here to exchange information for the enjoyment of my hobby. It is appropriate that you sort out with whoever banned you from the threads.

I have been involved and contributed enough in this subject; I shall move on. I texted Emma this morning, telling her not to get discouraged by recent criticisms. I asked her for information about Linda and Mandy, the two new girls that I saw in Golden outside the room....

I remember living downtown and our house was filled with Roaches. I remember opening the cuboards and they would just fall in bunches. Or going to the kitchen to get a glass of water in the middle of the night and they would scatter all over the kitchen floor. I had to spoil their party. Eventually we got exterminators and that fixed the problem. Thank god these ones are small compared to the ones down South. Here is a picture of a Bettle, but the Roaches were about the same size. They are better fed down South.

The spa has admitted there is a problem .... and have stated they are trying to fix it
You either take them at their word ....or just don't go there.

how can we ensure the pests have been eliminated. who knows what other stuff is crawling inside the spa?
