Crackdown on Mt. Pleasant?

Earlier this year Romeo reported that a number of new MPs had sprung up on the strip of Mount Pleasant south of Eglinton down to Davisville; some Asian, some EE.

I just had a chat with a very troubled girl at #565 who said that the police were comming in every day now, and had just closed down her closest neighbor at #617.

565 is licenced, and not known for high mileage, and has never recieived any tickets at all. She was told that the reason 617 had been a target, was that the police were cracking down on places where sexual activity was taking place.

There has been at least one write up in a local paper saying that locals were quite displeased at having places like this so close to home.

Hopefully this isn't the start of a new trend in mid/downtown Metro.

(Boy I hate driving out of mid/down town just for a "massage".)

Is it my impression, or is it true that this area has been a very starchy collar prim and proper neighbourhood?

again, it sems to be a case of "concentration". Too many in a short area (think EBC)..

Driving along Bloor between Dufferin and Keele - 7 in total now, and talking to one of the attendants at the one just west of Lansdowne - they have been under increased scrutiny - and a mention by the boys in blue - too many in a small area - people get complaining...

wouldn't be surprised that is what happened on Mt. Pleasant .. one or two can fade into the woodwork, but when a bunch open --- especially with the neon signs etc... just begging for trouble.

I was at 617 a few months ago and nothing of a high mileage

was offered, max. was BS if I remember correctly.

Looks like a complaint from neighbors.
