Well bro, its upto you to decide what u wanna read n what u want to skip...this is public forum...nobody's forced to read each n every post...if i dont like something, i dont read it..its tht simple...why the hue n cry about it...?? as long as the message is conveyed to the right person, its purpose is served...now if i meant to say something to safin, i wudnt care if somebody else was reading it or not...just like tht...if you dont bother to read our posts,if u find it bullsh!t, crap or whatevah, its alright, its your view....... but just bcos of tht, u cannot just stop others from having fun among themselves...if u dont wanna be a part of a party, its fine...u can have your own...we will not bother you either...

English is more like it. English is more common than Hindi in the internet world. Even on the majority of indian sites. No one is getting offended. its just that when ppl want to participate in a discussion and have no clue of whats going on, they just cant be bothered.

Thats the whole point! no one wants ppl not to participate in discussions. A public forum is meant for one and all. Not a select few.

Hindi is our national language and an official one at that. English is official but to be phased out.
English was just a link language which was allowed the designation of that but even now there is always stress given on propagating Hindi. Ofcourse one can argue the point and refuse to acknowledge that, but according to the constitution of India: (1) The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script. The form of numerals to be used for the official purposes of the Union shall be the international form of Indian numerals.

Wrong By any stretch of imagination english cannot be most widely spoken in India. That would be Hindi or any regional language but not English. People in villages don't know english :bleh: on the net, yes that would be more like it

We will be careful to use english but some usage of hindi sometimes is unavoidable.

well as u know, i am a south indian, and its not like that i hate hindi, its just that i don't know hindi, and didn't bother to learn it, when i had the chance, i choose french over it when i was in school, and now i don't have the patience nor time to learn it either. I want to participate in the forum but thanks this language problem i am not able to... well i can't complain, can't expect others to post in english just for me. aaah nvm, you guyz continue posting as u wish......

Where did you jump to the conclusion that I hate Hindi ?? I dont. I understand Hindi pretty well.

I am referring to the larger problem of people not participating because of it. Hindi may be a national language but honestly India is too big and too vast to expect all people irrespective of which region they hail from to know Hindi.

You cant expect whole regions speaking Tamil or Kannada for centuries shift to Hindi in a matter of 60 years.

Hindi has penetrated in the South only after independance. You cant expect people to know Hindi.

Seriously if we as Indians can't even agree on Hindi as national language then shame on us (my views. really i don't agree or even support english as national language, thats after i do everything in English and happened to be a merit ranker in English :bleh: ) Countries like France, Germany, China take pride in their national languages. Its somehow an obsession with Indians to degrade anything Indian and promote everything western. I am not against English, i love it, its one of the reasons for India's progress, but i can't agree about Hindi not being a national language. The whole idea of official language is tied with National language(infact the person who suggested hindi as a official language in the constitution was a Tamilian. Times have changed but if people just reject each other on languages then god save this country.
