If the card is chip and pin and a valid pin is used to authorise, then the card company has the responsibility to provide all the info. So in the example provided, it will be card company of CP who is responsible to prove it is a fraud out of lost/ stolen card.

In US , it is still not a banking law yet and therefore lot of non pin cards are still active. That is the reason why most stores in US still have signature pads. If you use these type of non pin cards in India, 99.99% of merchants will decline or or not accept it, due to the reason mentioned above. Merchant takes the risk of dispute settlement..

Bhai, all CC in US are chip without pins. It probably doesn’t go well with these white skin folks to be bothered about entering pin every now and then. These people don’t like these kind of things.

Needless to say, Debit cards do have pins.

I did try withdrawing from my Bank of America Debit card at the ATM near Deepika DB. It worked and there is $10 foreign transaction fee involved.

I didn’t want to use my India card to withdraw as my parents would have got withdrawal alerts (for another 25k) after having left home with 20k. Therefore I asked BBMK to head to my hotel to grab the BOA debit card.

I will try disputing a small transaction with my debit card, just for the sake of fun.

Asking the bank for a no transaction fee card is a good idea. I really need it for my next trip.

Just to explore more and primarily because of no response of phone calls by Pooja - Nerul, I thought to go back to Sneha. This time to explore more of this place.
Entered around 4: 30pm with lot of options as soon I entered the den. But no-face was attractive enough to spend some quality time with. Waiters again guided me to ground floor - left side room. Some patrons were already enjoying.
Grabbed a seat in between on left. Corners were already taken
As waiter came to me, asked for Rubina in hope of BJ this time.

Yes they go with patrons but unlikely on first visit. The number of visits it takes to get their contact (from coatwala) depends on how much you spend per visit.

I along with my friend had spent around ~30k on first visit and got desired chicks number from coatwala in Heaven 6. Later when we started texting and stuff, I came to know she is a 15k for few hours material.

Please visit the OB and post FR. If you have right contacts, you can get such girls contacts (called as indies) and hence skip the spending that you would otherwise do in OB to get the OB girl contact.

IMO, OB girls are as good as 15k-25k indies.

I use US credit cards that are targeted towards international travelers and hence have no foreign transaction fees. For example Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa Infinity. I have never had a problem using this particular card all over India. No PIN needed and most merchants disregard the “signature required “ message.

Card is pin enables , will cost 350 rupees, no charges for using it online or merchants, no charges to withdraw at ICICI ATMs, around 25 RS for withdrawal in non ICICI ATMs.

You will have to provide us address proof and dollars . They may give atrocious exchange rate !!

Am sure lot other Indian banks will provide similar prepaid cards. Just another option if you don't want to use your US cards or not getting good prepaid travel cards from US banks in Indian rupees..

CP I forget to mention that sometime in new place the bar staff creates trouble regarding Cc payment.

I myself got this problem in last April in Blue Star.
The section was tight due to election and I have fight with my girl on that day in other bar.
I was high on alcohol and went around 8:30 at blue star.
My bill was around 60k and when I have ask waiter for cc payment he said please cash ker do ya debit card do mein nikaal lata hoon atm se.
It was around 11 pm and all bar girl and customer went away around 10 pm because of tight section.
Only me and one more customer was there and 2 girls dj and staff were there.
He also left around 10:30 and it was only me and that girl who was also in hurry to go from bar.
When I realised what is going and it was only me there in that tight section where all db close at maximum 10 pm at that time suddenly a cold air touch my sense and i realised it time to exit from that place.
So didn't argue with staff and paid bill in cash and left .


Btw I end my trip in between and didn't visited Kuala Lumpur and back in Mumbai last week.

Visited 3-4 db ob sb will put detailed Fr tonight

I keep my CC in Bill folder and write my card pine code number back side of bill with total bill amount with tips to waiters.
So waiter goes alone to swape at Bill counter and gives back my CC at my table.

Bro, don't give your pin to waiters. Someday your card will get cloned and you will get hit by a big fraud transaction. Unlike US, banks here will make you run pillar to post to dispute. Worst case they will auto debit the amount from your savings account if you have it with them or show you as delinquent if you don't pay and your credit score will get fucked.

Here, for withdrawing cash (called as Cash Advance) through credit card can only be done by physically going to a bank.

I don’t use my US cards in India. Disputing any charges would be difficult. Also, service fee is probably applicable.

And my India cards are with my parents. Registered number is also theirs (because I don’t keep India number active). So when I Monger in India with my India cards, they get alerts for every withdrawal I make. That keeps me in limit.

However, now I might consider using my US credit cards in bars - If I need to go beyond my set limit.

I think you can get cash ( max 80usd) from Walmart/CVS in lieu of cards. I used to go to two three CVS to get cash since ATM was too far and they charge 5usd extra from any other ATM.

Yes, When you checkout and pay using Debit card at any merchant in US, in the end the terminal asks you for “cash back”.

If you go for it, it will ask you to enter your PIN and then amount. And then the cashier will give you the cash.

It does not work with credit cards.

Getting cash from credit cards happens only by going to a bank and presenting the CC and our ID.

DB’s giving out cash on CC was first I am hearing and thus all the thoughts of jugalbandi.
