Police said the suspect, who was arrested yesterday has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of arson, two counts of unlawful imprisonment and two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm.
The fire was started late Monday night at the Accura Care Massage and Spa on Middlebelt Rd., north of Maplewood.
Two women inside the business at the time were treated at the scene for minor injuries and smoke inhalation before being taken to a hospital for further treatment, according to Garden City Police.
The fire caused significant damage to the business, while nearby businesses sustained smoke damage, police said.
It's unclear what the suspect's motive was, as investigators said they were still looking into that.
The suspect was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
His name was not immediately released.
