Describe a Monger!

It's late and I have to get to bed as I've another early start tomorrow! :whistle:

What is, or how would you describe a monger! In the English language to Monger is usually to sell something such as Iron or Fish! Anyway.....

Is it volume of traffic? Bars visited? Go-Go shows watched? BF's paid? Threesomes, foursomes, moresomes? Do you have to wear special glasses or come from a country with an unusual name? Tell me!

Is 'Mongering' a group or individual activity?

I don't start many threads but when someone said they could see 'everything' there is to see in Patong in one night! Then yes, if you consider Bangla Road as being Patong and just walking along it looking down the Soi's then I suppose I could do that in 5 minutes depending on alcohol consumed and the path I took avoiding dodgy manhole covers.......Was that a good 'Mongering' session in your book?

Is 'Mongering' better done elsewhere? In public or in private?

i don't know, it just may be me Denver, but is seems to me you have "gone native" more than any expat i have ever seem on this forum
it is like, unless you live in a relatively budget accomodation, or know where to buy a 20 baht bacon sandwhich, or where you can find 700 baht girls instead of enjoying yourself in a disco( because of according to you, if you dress in more than a free black bar t-shirt and decide you want to go to a place that you enjoy that might cost you more than 50 baht a beer then you are an idiot or a 2 week holiday hero)

sometimes, just because people aren't penny pinching and actually enjoy nice things , doesn't mean they are going to these nice places just to be seen by disgruntled guys wearing a Mai Thai t-shirt or Hell's Bell's t-shirts
they actually enjoy these places and dont have a heart attack spending more then 1000 baht/night

I conclude, getting back to the thread, that in Paulies case, a 'Monger' is someone who 'likes to spread the wealth' a bit! Go out there and make sure everyone has a drink in thier hand, paid for by them, that every girl is taken care of and that they get to as many bars/clubs/discos as possible! Nema Problema.

As for me finding the cheapest bacon butty in Thailand and telling everyone, that is a public service and you should be proud of me! As for Disco's, I go in those too, occasionally, but my hip replacement plays up on the fast tracks.

It was interesting to hear what people thought a mongerer, who enjoys mongering, is! I've obviously never done it and must get round to it one day!

The term "monger" has been adapted and generally used to describe an individual who searches out or seeks to procure items or services. (the flip side of the dictionary meaning...one who provides, or facilitates trade)

In the context of the Thai forums of course, a "monger" is one who seeks out the "ladies of the evening", for P4P encounters, on a steady or regular basis. "Monger-ing" therefore, would be the act of being a monger. 55555

I think that mongering is a "state of mind" and has nothing to do with the amount of baht spent on drinks, accommodations, meals, BF's, ago go's, bell ringing, tuk tuk's, private limo's, six packs, bacon butters, meat pies, snickers bars, latte's, or fudge-cicle's!

The twat who stated that in Patong you could "see it all in one evening" (another thread), probably considers himself to be an elitist monger. One who can take in (visually inspect) ALL the available ladies on Bangla Rd in just a couple of hours. 55555

A Monger.

My idea of a monger is one who has a single minded attitude to sex whilst they are on holidays/vacation by rooting their brains out of themselves with as many partners as the can find..

This process may or may not be assisted by the consumption of alcohol but for those with low alcohol tolerance or who like the extra sensation of sobrity whilst engaged in the act of intercourse, alcohol need not be consumed.

A monger is someone who starts out the evening/day with the intention of rooting the best looking person (non sexist) they can find for the least amount of money.

But at the end of the evening they often end up with the least attractive person who thankfully, because of the alcohol consumed, manages to look like the person the monger wanted to root in the first place.

A monger also never sleeps alone, as to do so is to admit, that they could not get a root even in Thailand and their ego is much to sensitive for that.

Some mongers are solitary creatures whilst other roams in groups. The solitary ones are normally the older type of monger whereas the pack ones have a much younger disposition.

The older ones silently stalk their prey by talking softly and reaching a bargaining figure whilst the younger one often act boisterous and loud and wave their money about for all to see.

Those who are seen sauntering back to their rooms at the end of festivities are only occasional mongers as the real mongers, at that time, are already on the job.
