Not that I am aware of..........
I have popped cheap over the counter massageplanetfiene tablets (Methyxanthine - sounds really bad when given its chem name - Don't see that on a jar of Nesmassageplanete do you?) to try and stay awake on long exercises in the past but nothing more than that. In our ration packs there used to be packets of lemon and orange dextrose tablets (Sugar/Glucose) to keep popping in your mouth on long tabs across country. I think they stopped them a while back, tasted like chalky poo anyway.
We had the CDT (Compulsory Drugs Testing) and if found with speed (and/or cannabis) in your system you were drummed out of the Army very soon after that.
We were 'offered' NAPS (Nerve Agent Protection System) in the Gulf which is a small dose of atropine to kick off your own immune system against the cloud of the stuff likely to be dropped on you.
The symptoms of nerve agent poisoning (Drags up training from murky past) pin-pointed pupils (dilated) sweating, involuntary urination and defacation, shoreforum.xxxe or breath, cold, wet clammy skin. Sounds like me trying to get up in the morning! :what: We were given an initial dose to take and then three auto-injectors with a two inch needle to get through all your kit. These were to be used if feeling the above effects in yourself.
Heard of bromide in tea. Supposed to surpress sexual libido in the chaps while serving overseas and all that. Total nonsense if you ask me and a bit of an old wives tale. Definately no diet pills! 5555555 The gym staff sorted that out and two fitness tests a year, again, fail, given a re-test, fail, out of a job!
Beer (or alcohol generally) does it for me as a relaxant. Gone are the days I wanted to be up all night and needed a chemical to help me. I just fall asleep where I am now which can be embarrassing when 'on the job' :embrassed
