im awaiting my second microdiscectomy on L5-S1 my first op was 10yrs ago so iv lasted well with no problems till 3 weeks ago when i had to have a emergency mri scan,i was on the ward waiting to go down for the op thinking that from relapse to op was only 2 weeks what a result,then i was told op cancelled for a emergency,since then iv had it cancelled 3 times,but yes it does happen and im sure you will make a good recovery after your op
