I couldn't give a fig about the customer...I am subtle in my greeting only because of her pocket....she is a business woman and its her livelihood...i don't ever want to spoil her chances in a transaction

I think that was what I was trying to say...the current customer might be put off by obvious greetings and she could lose out.

Seems to me from my limited experience that it would be rude not to make some acknowledgement, but potentially difficult for her if it is too obvious....as has been stated already.

However some girls seem much happier to greet you when they are with another customer...I wondered how prevalent this is...limited experience and all that.

This scenario crops up more for me when I know a particlar girl cos I've been in her bar a lot etc and then I see her out and naturally chat or acknowledge her passing. Its then that I realise what the customer might be thinking.

After all - she's a friend - he's just a john.
