Trump has to surrender and then be processed (fingerprinted and mugshot) on Tuesday. It’s not a violent crime so he’ll get bail and wait for trial.

The charges are still under seal but it is looking like 30 + counts of corporate tax fraud. That makes it a State Crime. A President cannot pardon State crimes, only Federal crimes. Only a Governor can pardon a State crime but New York is a Democratic state so don’t count on a pardon.

Trump paid Michael Cohen back for the Stormy Daniels payoff with checks for $35,000/month (about $450,000 in total) and his business called it legal fees which are normally a legitimate business expense if the services have a legitimate business purpose and thereby lowers a company’s taxable income. So this looks to be a tax fraud case and not campaign financing. If so, those right wing media that are running around screaming right now are going to look very stupid once again.
