We must preach The Gospel
Man that's crazy. You think today's leaders would learn from Washington. Today, America is much too divided..Washington was a General in the Revolutionary army. When he became the first President he knew he had to create stability in the new country. He was honest and believed in duty. He put the country first and not become a new “King”. When a job was done, he’d reduce his power and authority. After the war it was a very unstable time so he used his power to unite the country and not divide it. That set the groundwork for democracy to grow.
Jackson wanted more power, he wanted to be “King”. He vetoed many laws passed by Congress. He supported slavery and forced Native Americans from their lands. They both served in the military but as Presidents they were very different. Washington was country first and Jackson the opposite.
Thanks for the history.
