The one thing I don't understand is how come Trump doesn't participate in the debates with the other candidates? Is it due to his many criminal charges? The United States should have a law where if a politician who is facing criminal charges or has been in office in the past and has already been impeached who now wants to run again for the presidency, should not be allowed to run for office..

The 14th Amendment Section 3 is the closest thing to that Law you seek. It is being tested in a few States. This would remove him from the State ballot so that State cannot give him those electoral votes. If a Democratic states votes to remove him, then so what. He wasn’t going to win that state anyway. Only if a toss-up State removes him from the ballot will it make a difference

I just find the whole thing hypocritical. Trump has been impeached (more than once) and is in deep doo doo with the courts yet he's still allowed to run for office. That's not fair!
