I know how this will go though, as it always does in Edmonton, and this is why the Asians dominate the scene here. EE women will see the clients as nothing but rubes because they act this way. Yes, the Asians have the same disdain, but they conceal it. Service will be so-so and prices high "because they're white girls, if you want to save money see Asians."

This is how it works here. The AMP prices are very high and a lot of the service is indifferent and mechanical. Gems? Sure, but like rare gems, you have to mine deep to find them.

So, it depends on who you're competing against. If you're taking on the AMPs, there's lots of room there to chisel out a nice profitable niche. If you're going to go after the guys that frequent Asian providers then understand why the Asians are so successful here. Value.

Agree, but I might just have to start my own mob.

Every time I party, drink, and stay up late with a bunch of women, it never has structure.
I think a good mob base will tie thing together nicely.

Some key ingredients to the simple success model, once the right therapists are on board:

1. Once the massage session begins, masseuse will not be answering calls, texting, or yelling out to other ladies or the manager. The client deserves total attention. How many of you have booked a 90 minutes session, only to have it interspersed with various interruptions?.. when this happens, I NEVER repeat. Ever. The secret is to have bookings managed properly. Too many inexperienced clients tolerate nonsense and these practices continue.

2. Client gets the full massage time they paid for. The business model should be clearly laid out, and the service promise to clients should be communicated clearly. Is shower time part of the 60 minutes or 90 minutes? Or is each session bracketed with a brief cushion of time, so neither client nor therapist feels stressed? As a client I go for massages, to leave relaxed, not rushed. But I appreciate knowing in advance if my true massage time is an hour or 90m, or if that is the total session time.

3. Cleanliness is Godliness. And good towels that don't leave clients and their clothes covered with shreddies/lint.

4. Warm massage rooms, music selection.. Alexa etc.

Recipe of success is fairly simply:

1) make it private: guys generally don’t like walking into AMPs I feel. Not sure how this will work because I’m assuming it will be a commercial space. Perhaps make it an online booking system only that staggers appointments so dudes don’t run into each other.

2) make it upscale and less “seedy”. Check out “the client list” (awesome show btw, I wish I could have Jennifer love Hewitt dressed like that to give massages).

3) make it affordable. If you make it affordable, you will build long term business. Guys rather come twice a month and spend 240$ rather than come once a month and spend $200.

4) make sure they dress hot

I've been to many MPs and it's typical that the SP leaves the room for you to shower.. pretty sure that's counted as session time. Only the micro girls/in-calls are with you all the way.

Most of the time, the showers are not in the room (unfortunately), so I shower, lie down, and when the masseuse enters, the clock starts.. and I expect the full one hour massage or 90 minutes massage before I take a second shower. Don't take the first shower if I'm already freshened up. Part of being an experienced client, is to state your requirements in advance. If not acceptable, I politely decline and leave. Same with the texting in room stuff. If they do not agree, then it's sayonara. More home based therapist options keep popping up in cowtown, and they are eager to have repeat clients. Easier to say goodbye to the bad shops. When a very good therapist does some annoying, take the time after to explain your concerns. Give them the chance to fix it. If the problem repeats, then bid goodbye, permanently. You may be surprised how often they will text you back. Good repeat clients are hard to find.

Follow that up with a plunge into icy cold water, part of the ritual. Shrinks the tool back to minimal size. A shot of vodka and caviar, and then let the next EE lady work on getting things back to size

A place that offers quality deep tissue massage, avoids the lovely combo of bait and switch/fake photos/high pressure upsell that seems to happen would be a great start.

If you then add attendants that were genuinely interested in building a loyal clientele for repeat visits by actually taking care of their clients (as opposed to leaving guys with the feeling of being treated as a rube being milked for whatever money will fall out of your wallet) I think that you'd rapidly build a loyal clientele.

Other things that might help with getting clients coming back:

-showers in the room, as opposed to down the hall.
-an actual sauna might be good....although that means that when someone is in the sauna, their wallet and clothes are unattended in a different room, and that room can't be used for massages. Maybe a logistical problem?
-a schedule visible on a website of who is working when, that is actually accurate. Even better if guys can book online

I can only speak for myself....but if you get those things into place I wouldn't have an issue with paying a little bit more for a 60 or 90 minute massage - and the variety of things offered as extras wouldn't really be a big factor in making my decision.
