Yet again Genevieve shows her extreme intelligence and insight about people and the human condition. A very genuine thank-you.

I sent her the post as a way to prompt the conversation and it worked very well. Obviously this is still at the fling stage, but it appears Laggy is a bit smitten, so it was a rather open conversation.

I added a rule for myself .... No Drama ... I will not cause drama in her life and just take it for what it is in the moment ... very Buddhist of me.

One interesting part was when she asked how many people I had slept with LOL.
Decision time ..... truth or lie ..... I chose truth.

The look on her face when I said somewhere between 300 to 500 was priceless.
That prompted another very good and open conversation.

I've been asked by several younger girlfriends the same question and I simply say "You aren't my first but god willing you may be my last"

It was very strange, normally I would give the same sort of evasive non-answer, but this time; no, here is the unvarnished truth.

So we had dinner on the weekend with a couple that I am friends with. Both have PhD's and she is a visiting professor. It did not go well. No point in the details but it did not go well.

But afterward, the ability for both her and I to rebound, to put what happened in the past, and enjoy each others company was tremendously refreshing. The bad dinner was not the focus of the rest of the weekend, just a little bump that did not have to be analyzed to death. Damn, I am really starting to fall for her.

What really cracked my up is that she thinks I could be Chris Noth's twin. I sure as hell don't see it, but she thinks Chris Noth is hot so who am I to argue.

This is a sentence from a PM I sent someone this morning. (It's entirely my writing, none of the other person's, so I don't believe a board rule is offended.)

"So for me a final fling with a young girl, what is the risk compared to the possible reward if it works. I have no false hope that this has a better than 1% chance of working out, but what the hell, even for the 1% its worth the shot. Worst case, she puts a smile on my face for a few weeks, not that bad a deal, smiles can be difficult to come by."

Final comment, is that the rules Gen suggested will most certainly be followed and she will be left in a better place for having encountered Laggy.

I think I have flogged this thread enough, time to move on.

^^^ I can only imagine how that dinner went......and your statement is bang on.....you only go around once so enjoy the ride while you can.

Just a word of caution: don't fall too hard for her, I think you and I both know it doesn't really have a future but enjoy it while you can.

So should we start calling you Mr Big now?
