favourite bar on nanai

Nanai Rd has a completely differant feel to it compared to the rest of Patong..there is imho even a differant feel from the north and south ends of the road... so which is you favourite bar to chill out in

Dons BBQ and the Offshore are probably the most popular ATM.

for what its worth think the south end is much more laid back...suppose becouse its not so busy... but overall nanai does not have that many tourists(family's with kids on holiday) roaming around..

for me its cheap charlies bar and also the sports bar/pool place which is near cheap charlies.

Nice food at Dons BBQ btw. Had a couple of meals there on last trip. I think the guy that runs it used to run a bar on Bangla. Moon Bar maybe, not sure.

I was always a big fan of the Offshore, great place to while away the afternoons, good food too.

Don catered for many parties down on Bangla.at the kangaroo bar many times as well as the occasional BM owned bars.
he made a name for himself with his tasty BBQ`s.
he then opened the bar on Nanai a coupla years ago and has been doing well in an area that is hard to attract punters.

The nice thing about Nanai is that it IS off the track of the tourist hordes. Don's and a few other places are open in Mae Ubol market and as pointed out above if you want to chill out in a BG-less harohansum, wheahucumfam,ubuymedrinksessyman environment you can. if you feel the urge a mb taxi will only take 5 mnutes to get you to the bright lights as well. other option is that you can flag down the FLs on their way to work!! Not necessarly the right envirnment for short tern mongers but for longer term people it suits them- more and more are spending less and les time downtown.

Anyone know what the new place is that is on the 4 way intersection right at the southern end of Nanai road? where the road goes to kata, nanai or the beach or jungceylon. on the same side of the road as all the new hotels built there.

We stumbled past in a drunken state one night in August on a mission and didnt go in saying we would check it out another night and never did. Looked like a coyotee or mini go go setup.

I know it well, its called "peace house", unfortunately its due to close soon, Mr Man the owner is opening a new bar on Thanon Phangmeuang shortly its about 300 M from the cross road with Nanai, i was helping him last week with some finishing touches. in the new place he can play live music and hopefully not get raided by the boys in brown.

Offshore bar is the place. You get a few tourists in there but mainly expats. Good local crowd and the owner is a nice guy
