First time in Phuket

I couldn't care less what people spend personally, I was just having a pop at Pablo for saying he's never rung a bell anywhere when I have pictures of him ringing several.

I've seen blokes drop 50,000 Baht in Nightclubs and not bat an eyelid, I've borrowed 300 Baht and written a IOU to a BG to get a MB taxi home.

I've gone out for a 'quiet' one and run up tabs I can't even remember running up and then gone out for a 'Biggy' and come home with a couple of 'K' left in my pocket.

4 days to go - only now am I starting to get excited...the reality of departure, transit and then arrival is starting to set in. Thanks to Boatboy for the following (MapJack (Beta) - Your City Online) for my first proper look at Bangla...somewhat intimidating for the first timer but I think we'll manage.

My only fear is I won't get to see everything, as we're only there Saturday afternoon - Thursday afternon but I suppose that's a good excuse to come back, and I know already I will be back as there's obviously more to see than just Patong.

Still, there's some daunting decisions to be made: which bar to have the first beer at (555 MTB would be a good answer?), what sights & sounds to check out in the short time we're there, where to hunt for the perfect bedfriend etc etc I'm sure all will work out fine.

I do have a couple of questions - where do the younger farangs hang out? My mate and I are both 25 and keen for at least one night to chase some foreign (free) skirt while we're there - other nights I suppose will be spent trawling various soi bars and the clubs for hotties. We don't want to spend the majority of time with our own kind though (given the reputation of a lot of Australians who visit Phuket) and prefer the company of like-minded persons and locals.

Also, can you hire larger capacity roadbikes by the day? If the roads are ok I'd like to do an island circumnavigation on a larger cc motorbike (will consider bringing gloves & kevlar jeans if yes).

Check out the transport thread for the bike and yes MTB would be a very good start.

As for chasing the farang free skirt mate, I reckon a 100 yard walk down Soi eric to MTB and that notion will be quickly forgotten as numerous nubile wenches grab caress and kiss you...

They aint called LBFM for nothing!!

I have been going to phuket for a good few years , and i spend a fortune, only me and the wife but can never show anything for the money but a very good time, if your enjoying your self those 1000 baht notes do not last a long time.
we eat out at least 3 times a day and out every night , and hire a jeep , but it all builds up, dont really keep tabs on it
