Firstime question

Whats up guys I have decided to head to TJ two saturdays from now. Since its my first time, I will stick to Adelitas. I just have a couple of questions:

Should i be expected to pay in pesos or dollars?

Are there certain taxis i should be on the lookout for? (sometimes they say to stay away from the personal taxis, etc.)

Ive read the information here and on TJ Amigos but this is something info I havent come across. Thanks.

Oh, and does anybody have any suggestions as to a cheap hotel to stay at? As long as its safe and relatively close to the Adelitas, and not a total piece of shit, ill be happy.
