I have never bought perfume for a BG but a couple of years ago a bargirl asked me get a particular brand of perfume for her duty free, so i reckon some of them like the stuff and know what they want.
But with all things fragrence its very personal and what you think smells nice in the shop she might think it smells ghastly and refuse to wear it. So i would only buy if she requested something particular.

An office girl i know from bkk asked me to buy her expensive perfume duty free, which i did, and she paid me for it when i delivered it to her.

Overall i say yes they like it, but find out what they want first. If in doubt dont.

I am leaving in about half an hour and taking as a present a hearing aid , my tgf has an uncle who drove us all over the place in his car when we visited issan , who is a bit deaf in one ear and apparently these are expensive in thailand , free in uk ,if you can convince your gp that you are hard of hearing!!!

Do you sit outside the doctors room, and when he calls you in, just sit there doing nothing?

After he has called you 4 or 5 times THEN you can tell him you have hearing problems

I heard that perfume isn't a suitable gift in LOS because if you give it to a girl it means you're about to give her a P45.

Sasha - probably safest is to use Interflora - just go your local flower shop and use that as certainly giving your cerdit card details to a shop over here could turn out to be a nasty experience.

Also as a suggestion - tell your tiluk (girlfriend) you are comming a couple of days LATER than you actually are - then you can come and just make sure she is really on the stright and level - just an idea .....

On purfume - Mrs S hates perfume - and its not recommended as a gift unless she askes for it (in which case she will have been with many farang and grown accustomed to it). Thai women - especially those less hardened will generally prefer 'homming' (sniffing) you over kissing, so perfume kills that experince. Many farang 'smell' in Thai sense because eat they tend too much dairy based food - so to be free of BO is highly valued by your tiluk at all times - she will probably smell sweet enough as she showers at least twice a day - so why insult her with perfume - its tantamount to saying she stinks!

There are a couple of guys that can trade you some cigarettes and chewing gum for it.

I'd stick to the perfum, make-up, and flowers........more rewarding.
