Good Indian Food Chalong

I had some great Indian curries when I stayed with a mate in Bradford.He was a local white guy brought up within an Asian community so he was treated as one of their own - great food.es:

One of the hottest Indian Meals I have ever eaten was a "Phal" Curry in a place in Oban.It is so hot the waiters and kitchen staff watch you eat it (or try).:bigboulay:

My favourite in Singers is the Maharajah on Boat Quay...

There's another good one in Holland Village but i've forgot the name

I would say though that the Little India restaurants are more real Indian style as opposed to many others in CBD being western Indian style...

Thought i`d add to this thread,i ate at The House of Indian Curries on the road along Rawai Beach at the Nai harn end of it the other day.

It`s literally a house with some tables around the front.

Food was good though.
I had a mild chicken curry cooked in onions and some roti.
Not cheap but very nice.

The tandoor place at the other end of the beach is my no 1 indian on the island.. Took Jas, over ordered and eat curry for days !!

Serve him right for me coppin the bin including his BF, loom fee, and LD's !!

but when I ate there the food was dull and tasted like it had come out if a tin - very poor - IMO - Mr India in Chalong good, but can still smell smoke from fire 2 months ago

I have found an Muslim restaurant in Bangkok (long way for carry ouy, I know), but it has been the best curries in the world a few times

Roti Mataba,Phratit by any chance....khao san area...worth the trek over(if your in bangers)IMHO.
A great mix of styles and very cheap...a small feast for 2 would set u back no more than 300 baht

Was back there yesterday evening after a good few beers next door.This time did not go OTT on starters.We had two different curry dishes with rice and Nan bread.We had asked them to zing it up a bit and it hit the spot.:wai:
