People change so much between 18 and 40 that marriage is just not a good idea until the late thirties at least. If you are going to make a life long commitment to one person you should wait until you have lived your own life and matured first. Men usually are not ready for serious commitments until they get their careers going and have had a few partners. Women have a biological imperative to start having children while they are fertile, which can cloud their judgment. There really are cases where people meet someone in their youth that they will always want to be with, but that is extremely rare. I know from personal experience that at 20 you can fall deeply in love with someone and make serious plans with them, and then a year later your feelings change completely.

I saw a “Hard Talk” interview with Mia Khalifa. She was a frumpy overweight teenager who changed her diet, lost a lot of weight, got breast implants and suddenly attracted a lot of male interest.
