We were taught soft fist elbow etc ... more in NMT. So i guess its more of trying to put it all together in a routine?
Yep.
Each client will need something different, and each client will need a different depth. You put it together, and get good at the deeper work and it all will come along fine.
The main thing I tell other therapists I know who aren't sure about deeper work: Know the tissue, know the bony landmarks, know the anatomy. Learn how much pressure you can use and/or shouldn't use. Practice, practice, practice. Take CEU's in the techniques your intersted in.
You probably already have more of the backgound knowledge you need to get into this type of work. Find a friend who can be a guinea pig!
