I'm a big fan of walking. I almost never take a taxi to and from the la Zona. There are those who think walking in TJ is very dangerous. You'll need to formulate your own opinion based on your intuition and experience. To me, TJ is far easier to navigate than any of the big U.S. cities on the East Coast.

As for walking from the San Diego airport to downtown, please note that, as stated, it is about 1 1/2 to 2 miles which is a very long walk for some people. For others, it is a chance for enjoyment and exercise.

My post was not meant to be an exhortation but merely to provide an alternative. It would never be my intention to have a fellow monger crash on a hotel bed alone. You should only crash on a hotel bed when a chica is between you and the bed!

This is my chance to "pick on" Gmbrldrx !
The transfer to trolley thing still works, I had read the same before maybe from you ? and then I checked with the bus driver who told me it works? I wouldnt advise walking to the trolley station. First of all one comes all tired after those security lines and endless walks in terminals (not San Diego) and then one has to get to the "hot spot" asap. There is the bus to the trolley station, then the trolley journey of 45 minutes with innumerable stops, Then the long almost a 1/2 mile walk from the station across the border to the taxi stand ! And even the short taxi drive can be stressful for newcomes. The guy has to have some energy going into the action spot, not crashing on the bed alone over there
Well it would be a nice walk along the harbor front, if one was going to stay in one of those high rise condos for the night

Just a humble opinion of this newbie to the site. I know of Bambi's trannies but never have seen it in Peanuts.

Here is the distilled important stuff spread in many threads.
1) Avoid "Bambi's" and "Peanuts & Beer" (Pre-OP trannies!)
2) Do not fall for the "Chair sex" it's a disguished HJ when it's dark and you're drunk.
3) Don't let the cabbie drive you to anywhere but Club Chicago, Adelita's Bar, Hong Kong Bar, these are the best places for a newbie to start. (There are a few other houses but I forget their names)
4) Try the Viagra, it helps when you want to fuck 5 girls in a night. (Available at any Pharmacy.
5) Don't get drunk or lose control of the situation or your environment.
6) Avoid dark alleys and anyone trying to call you over to them.
7) Bring alot of ones as the waiters will attempt to forget your change from a $20.
8) My experience, select the younger thinner girls (my preference) as the bigger their titts are in the bar, the more they hang below her navel in the room.
9) have fun but never attmit to anyone you where there. Rule number 1 don't talk about Fuck Club. Rule number 2, don't talk about FUCK CLUB.

Just a quick note re: the transfer from the bus to the trolley. Unfortunately, the San Diego transit authority no longer allows transfers -- thppt! You'll have to pay for the bus and then pay for the trolley separately. It's only a 20- to 30-minute walk to downtown (about 1 1/2 to 2 miles depending on which terminal you land at) so if you were so inclined and traveling light and wanted a workout after being cramped up in a plane for many hours, you could easily walk downtown to the trolley station. Follow the bay (Harbor Drive south) toward the skyscrapers and turn right when you hit Broadway. It's actually a very nice walk.

From the Airport main terminal or the shuttle terminal, you can take the Bus 992 to Broadway & Ketner (American Plaza). The bus runs every 15 mts approx, you will see a schedule posted at the bus stop, which is just outside the airport, do not cross over to the taxi stands. Ask info or traffic police if you dont find one. Say you want to take the Blue Line Trolley to San Ysdiro. You tell the bus driver you want transfer to blue line trolley, make sure you have $2.50 change. The fare covers bus fare and trolley fare to San Ysidro. It will take you about 15 minutes to the Trolley station, and then about 40 minutes to the border, last stop. Avoid talking to strangers at the trolley station, just look for Blue line to SanYsidro. The trolley stops last stop exactly at the entrance to the walkway/bridge to mexico, its a good 10 minute exercise ! There is McDonalds just before the entrance at last stop. Or you can load yourself a the Mcdonalds or subway at the airport before boarding the bus. When you exit the turnstiles in to Mexico, take a taxi ($5) say you want to go to Adelitas, dont accept any diversions or suggestions, dont talk much to the taxi driver. Near Adelitas you will find Coahuila above Adelitas or Cascadas Hotel above Hongkong, see the other thread active right now about hotel info. Enjoy ! I stand correcte from anyone if I have misstated.

I will be going to tijuana for thr first time this summer.I will be flying in to san diego can any of you tell me the best transportaion to use from the airport to mexico maybe a trolley or a bus. i plan on staying in mexico and i do not want to rent a car any help will do also any info on a good safe hotel to use near the action. thanks for your time
