Update

Had the surgery on my disc last Friday morning. All seemed to go well, as soon as I woke up I could feel the difference especially in my big toe

The surgeon did say that it was one very big disc that he had to work on and there was more bleeding than he would have liked, but all went well. The only painkillers I have had to take since have been because of the muscle tiredness pain and the wound, and they have been paracetamol mostly.

Anyway I was very lucky because the hospital I was in was excellent and they really looked after me. I was let home this morning and have to go and get my sutures out on Friday and see the surgeon again next Tuesday for the initial follow up to see how I have got on at home.

Now all I have to do is rest, and avoid sitting for a while which id do-able but so far its very encouraging because even standing up feels much better at this stage and there is no significant pain or numbness in my right leg or back anymore. And I got to bring home a jar with the bits he has removed in it
