Yes, light energy MFR or other techique can be wonderful post surgically. Direction of energy type only for at least the first 2 months. Direct work can be done gently above and below the site sooner. As for the upcoming hip and kne, get as much work done to release the fascia/muscle. For the hip and knee, balance the pelvis, release the psoas. For the knee, spend a lot of time releasing the quads and patella. Very often someone who has had a hip or knee replaced still experiences the pain that they had prior to the surgery. If nothing is done to release or stretch/balance the offending tissue, the problem remains after surgical correction. I treat a lot of folks in this category, but you can still help them. Better yet, get them before the need for surgery is imminent and you can often delay (or even eliminate) the surgery.
