All valid pet peeves.I hobby quite a bit and while I mostly have a good time, I do have some pet peeves...
1. MPA tries to sneak in an appointment right before you and the customer is late, pushing your appt time back - this happened to me recently. I made an appointment the day before and even confirmed it before I headed out. Then when I got there, I see a message saying to come 15-20 mins later because her prior customer was late. I could have obliged but didn't bother and just left. The MPAs need to start respecting our time (what if I had somewhere to be right after my original appt time). If the prior customer was 15 mins late, then his appointment should be cut short...they should also allow 10-15 mins buffer in between clients.
2. Bad appointment booking practices - most of the time when I call to book an appointment, they don't even take down my name. Thus, any Joe blow could show up at that time and say it was him (this has happened a few times already). Yeah, I could book with the MPA directly but if the owner doesn't know, she could accept another appointment at the same time (this has also happened to me and in this case, the other customer was turned away unfortunately). I guess the safest approach would be to let both the owner and the MPA know but it shouldn't be necessary if they did it right in the first place.
3. MPAs get too distracted during the massage (e.g. chatty) and forget you're paying for a 'massage' too. Because I tend to visit regulars (as opposed to always trying someone new), we end up getting fairly comfortable with each other. This leads to a lot of chatting during the session which leads to them running to their phone to show me something or for Google Translator etc. Not a huge deal but it happens quite a lot these days (somewhat related, I notice the massage quality usually slips a bit over time as well)...sometimes, it's nice to visit someone new where you can just close your eyes and enjoy the massage.
4. MPAs working during their period - not sure about the premier and holistic places but this happens quite a bit a semi-legits (in fact, it happened to me 'twice' last week). At semi-legits, many customers are just there for the massage and basic HE so many MPAs figure it's fine to work during their period. Unfortunately, the higher mileage customers get the short end of the stick.
5. Not properly cleaning themselves in between clients - at most semi-legits, the MPAs rarely jump in the shower afterwards for a proper cleaning...usually it's because they are worried that the owner or other MPAs will hear them (and they are embarrassed). A lot of times they'll just quickly rinse themselves with some water at the sink (no soap). Of course there are exceptions (for example, I usually see the MPAs at SL showering after our session) but proper cleaning protocol should be happening ALL the time, especially now during Covid.
Have you guys experienced the above too? What are some other pet peeves you guys have?
Since I tend to go to higher-end spas, I think that I don't encounter 4 and 5... or maybe I should say that I don't THINK I encounter them.
But I totally agree with 1, 2, and 3.
You and everybody else has probably covered most of the major ones, but the only pet peeve that I haven't seen above is where the MPA doesn't even TRY to give a good massage. A little bit of swirling around with the hands does nothing for my enjoyment of the session.
Don't get me wrong... like most of us, I'm really not there for the massage. But having a decent quality massage before the flip makes the whole session far more enjoyable. Plus, if she does a good job pleasing you before the flip with a good massage, I always know that the session is going to be even better after the flip.
Without a good massage, you're just lying on your front, not enjoying a whole lot, waiting for the flip.
A session with a crappy massage is like having a nice dessert after a not-so-great appetizer and main course.
