The CMTO has removed therapists’ licenses for violations, like under their Standards and Rules:

“Ensure the client is protected from exposure of the genital area and the gluteal cleft. Never touch the client’s genitals or anus. Clients can only provide explicit consent to have their genital area and gluteal cleft exposed for the purpose of Massage Therapy during childbirth.”

Under ethics:

“do not, under any circumstance, participate in any form of sexual behaviour with clients, including “consensual” behaviours””

“recognize their right to refuse care to clients who: sexualize or attempt to sexualize the therapeutic relationship”

Alongside an entire extensive document on what constitutes “sexual abuse.” At least a year has to pass before a RMT could be in a relationship with a former client.

Once girl crosses over 2 dark side… … how does she get caught? Im not gonna out her… we NVR reveal who does it… shes not outting herself… mgr likely in on it, doesnt care, but shes not gonna catch us anyway … & lots of legit msg still happening, perfect cover..,

One time, Im like 30 sec b4 blasting… this friggn female client walks in on us! My rmt just thru a sheet over me… perfectly normal, Im naked FFS…. & chased the woman out, told her 2 wait…

Made me really laff, even tho damn, bad timing… obv that woman had no clue what we were doing… lots of legit msg here 2… but rmt rather get the big tip f/ me then the crummy $10 tip after 1hr msg…

Plus RMTs get paid hourly… my tip ≠ her whole income…

Regardless of penalties, odds of getting caught… really small… & so easy 2 signal… undraped… flirt w her lots, tell her shes pretty… a few accidental brushes on the boys, u no its game on…

Do the rules say what explicit consent actually means, or are the rules as vague as it seems? It doesn't say if explicit consent consists of a written letter with signatures, or if it simply means verbal consent. But males can't give childbirth. So, I guess that throws it out the window.

The main document defines any sexual contact as sexual abuse due to the “power imbalance” and dynamics, especially in the therapeutic relationship.

When I had my RMT massage my glutes after a half marathon, I had to sign a document indicating that she was going to work on the area. So yes, explicit consent consists of a written document, and an acceptable reason. I couldn't walk the next day, and actually needed massage work on that part of my body.
