my first two visits long time ago i stayed in patong merlin ,these days one of the top hotels in patong they charged 500 bath a person you took with you to the room.so 3 some 4 some cost 1000 or 1500 extra , but she can stay all day and use the swimming pool, i didn't know better then, my third trip was to tropica bungalows first time i stayed for a month and then they didn't have JF that opened my eyes. and the last 6 years i stayed 4 years holidays in a guest house from a friend ,low prices good clean rooms and he not give a damm what you do as long you don't break the rooms down he sells simple food ( no veggies he say they not eat so why give) for low prize drinks are normal prized , only problem he has a 95% booking so be in time.BTW the last 2 years i have my own room with my tiluc.

My first trip was booked as a package via a travel agent.. And with the same result.. Joiner fee at the hotel.
So you live and learn (At that seforum.xxxe I was still far from finding this forum)

The last time i stayed at a hotel and had a woman they demanded money from me the next day.

I just refused saying its my room, i can bring who i want, then left.

Maybe I am in the wrong, but it wasnt a great hotel, and since I see it as MY ROOM, I can bring who I want when I want....

Its always easier for folks to recommend if you specify your budget and intended activities

Example 25/35/50$ a night, Beach proximity, A/C, Cable etc.

Iv used guesthouses at times.. hotels at other times. All been decent so far
