Just spend what you need to enjoy yourself while you are there(credit card) and worry about paying when the time comes. Unforseen things happen to people(illness,death,marriage,not sure which of those is worse) and another opportunity may not come around.

I have no car because I cannot afford one right now, but I could have had a decent second-hand BMW or Lexus if didn't go to LOS for the last two times... I don't regret it though. I never really even tried to count how much I was spending. I just don't feel like worrying about money when it comes to this.

last year was in LOS for 2 months, spent roughly 600,000 baht in total. travelled to 7 different places in thai, ladies! i lost count of them at about 28. Im from Aussie and i had a whole heap of fun and wouldnt change it for the world.
Planning a big one in "09" with another mate, going to bring up $40,000 AUD and come back home when im dry. im hoping it can last me at least 6 months.

when i stayed in LOS for 8 mos i spent around 3k usd per month and i pretty much spent whatever i wanted, when i wanted. went out practically every night. apartment was 15k month, motorbike. had a girl full time but very rarely gave her money. also, played around a lot with ST's and when i traveled away from Patong think she had big sponsors. i based in Phuket but traveled to Cambo, all different spots in Thailand, back and forth to US 3 times.
that is 2 1/2 years ago so things may be a little more expensive. one thing that is much more expensive is domestic flights

Me when going home after 2.5 months or whatever it was.. Felt more like leaving home. I mean after 8 months you gotta have established some type of lifestyle? and to just leave that lifestyle and go back to the daily grind again... I dunno perhaps its just me, but when i got home it actually took some time to feel at home again..

I feel like im leaving home after im there for only 2 weeks.The way i see it im on holliday seeing my family and friends in Melbourne and when im goin to LOS im goin back home, and thats in a week....
