Infertility / Maternity Reflexology Course

Can anyone recommend a good Reflexology course for Infertility? I know there are several short courses available, but I'd love to hear from people who have been on them and what their opinions are.

I'd highly recommend Susanne Enzer's course. The first part includes fertility issues and, since doing the course and using the techniques she taught us, every woman who's come to me with unexplained fertility problems (trying to conceive for more than a year and where investigations showed no underlying cause) has become pregnant within 3 months. But although the techniques have proved incredibly useful, it was the way she taught us to look at the psychology of fertility problems that really made the difference for me.

The Middlesex school of complementary therapy in Rickmansworth area do a mat reflex course. It takes about 4 months from start to handing in case studies etc. Good course. I think the enzers course is probably the best.

There are so many great courses out there, it seems so hard to know which to go for.
I've done both Suzanne Enzer's maternity reflex course and the one at Middlesex school. There are some similarities between them, but also some real differences. I found that both courses were on par with each other on knowledge and I really enjoyed them both. I like to know lots and lots about the A&P for all courses I do, and found that Rima, who teaches the Middlesex school course, gave much more indepth info about the maternity A&P (a whole head spinning weekend of it!). She then spent a whole other weekend on the practical reflex work - so put the theory into practice. Couldn't fault the course really. Rima also extened the time period in which to hand in the work - so all in all worked out well. Once I got going with the case studies every piece fell into place, and it's really enhanced my practice .

With regards to the infertility side of things - I found that Rima spent more time on theory of this than Suzanne Enzer did - but both were very similar in linking the emotional with the physical etc.

how do you do the case studies? do you have to find lots of women with fertility problems? does this pose a problem when finding people to work on for the course?

The majority of my work is for fertility/pregnancy clients at various points in their journey, just trying to conceive right through to IVF cycle support. I am having a good sucess rate and I have not done a fertility course so far but I have a good sucess rate.

I am hosting a maternity reflexology course with Moshe Kruchik this weekend covering pregnancy and labour and will do part 2 within the next year which will cover fertility, postnatal and baby reflexology. I like the support Moshe offers through email and his website via the forum. www.maternityreflexology.net.

I have approached Suzanne Enzer about courses but feel it is more of a business (in some ways I understand that) and just want to take my money and not think about 'me' afterwards. I warmed to Moshe and his passion for reflexology for the family unit and I am looking forward to his enthusiasm rubbing off on the delegates and myself! He is also interested in us, as reflexologists and makes the time to find out about people attending the courses before they attend..

I've done both Susannes course and also Moshes, which I did in Cheltenham a couple of weeks ago.
Ccole - like you, I totally warmed to Moshe and I love his approach to Maternity Reflexology. The course is just great, I loved it - Moshe is so approachable and sooooo enthusiastic about his subject. Its a hard weekend [especially Day 1] but you'll come away with so much knowledge and so many new techniques to use on your clients.
His website is really good and the support he offers after the course is fab - I've emailed him a couple of times and he is so helpful.

Louise Keet at the London School of Reflexology does a fabulous pregnancy reflexology course. Louise doesn't just teach the reflexology techniques, she also includes lots of other great information about lifestyle, nutrition, toxins in our daily life, etc etc.

I have finished the course with Moshe this evening and it was the best thing ever. I feel even more empowered to look after pregnant women than before, and as a midwife that says alot to me! I highly recommend the course and all of the attendees went away enthusiatic and motivated with the new skills gained.

Delores I totally agree with it being hard work but so worth it! We all went down the beach after the course to get some fresh air which woke us up and enough for the 5 course dinners we were having at the hotel all weekend!

I didn't find it hard to find the case studies. We needed to have at least 2 pregnant clients, and the others could either be pregnant, in labour, postnatal or for fertility issues. We were given great guidance during the course about lots of different contacts and places we could get case studies - and our tutor Rima was always available on email if we had an issues or queries.

I haven't done either Moshe's or Louise Keet's courses so couldn't compare them. However, I found both Rima and Suzanne Enzer to be very approachable after the course ended. As mentioned above - Rima was always ready to answer any queries after the course ended and was full of lots of "extra" advice (diet, lifestyle, natual remedies) - I found it all invaluable.

I did Susanne Enzer's maternity reflexology course and found it really good. Susanne is very warm, friendly and passionate about what she does, I didn't find her at all commercial so I'm quite surprised to hear that. She was a midwife for years as well as a reflexologist and could relate alot of what she was saying to personal experiences.

I haven't done any other maternity / infertility courses so can't compare. I've spoken to Moshe on the phone and have one of his books and would love to do one of his courses.
