Came out at home...did not come out and end up in the water. That area of my foot was very painful while it worked its way out. It started out sore, then progressively the splinter made an appearance. I thought maybe I stepped on something but I rarely go barefoot.
When I was still living with my parents, I went through a period of time (months) where my big toe would occasionally hurt, but I didn't really think much about it. At some point I noticed a spot on my toe, and showed it to my mom. She had me soak my foot in warm water for a while. After a bit, I checked out my foot, pinched my toe a few times, and shortly a sliver of glass made it's way out of the spot. I couldn't for the life of me figure out at what point I could have picked it up.
If soaking your foot in the ionic bath helped you get rid of a sliver, then it did something good. I'm still not sold that it does anything more than that though .
