is it weird to buy your dad a massage for his birthday?

it's my dad's 40th birthday and im clueless on what to get him. Is it weird to buy him a massage?

Not all men appreciate this sort of thing. You don't want to risk making him uncomfortable.
Shop for a really great card...go to more than one store...something he'll relate to that connects the two of you.
Dad probably could be upgraded by what you know in electronics...or accessories for that.
Something he can brag to his buddies that make him "hip"...bring him up to date on something (like an iPad) or if he has everything check the catalogs right now for something different that's right up his alley. It's a chance to show him you appreciate his interests, his hobbies, his efforts.
Magazine subscriptions are great. Go to a Barnes & Noble or Amazon or Borders and pick out a subscription that's in an area of interest for him. If you buy the magazine at the store you can give that to him along with the subscription. He'll think of you ever month when he gets it in the mail.

Nope, not at all, especially if this is something he needs and would appreciate. If he is the type of guy who is uncomfortable being nude or partially nude for a stranger, or does not like to be touched, then maybe not. Other than that, he should be thrilled with your gift. It shows that you think he deserves a break from his tireless work.
